Kathleens history as an artist spans over several decades. Beginning with a focus on the British sporting artists, her interest shifted to the art of American and British Marine painters and that of Hudson River School. After years of emulating these great schools of painting, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to study with her Uncle Richard Schmid, who is known as the artists artist for his mastery of technical skills. He is the recipient of the John Singer Sargent Award, as well as countless others. Through his influence and training, Kathleen has found her own voice in painting, incorporating many distinct schools of painting in her own vision. |
